L.A.Mustang is proud to announce the world famous West Coast Customs invited us to provide parts from our website for two classic Mustang builds. The owner of the company, Phil Grayson appeared on an episode of WCC December 13th 2015 to represent LAMustang.com and the parts we offered for the builds. The two Mustangs, one a 1967 fastback and the other a 1968 convertible. The Mustangs were finished in the Eleanor style. Each part provided came from this website. 1979-1993 Mustang Parts

This generation of the Mustang saw many changes. Ford utilized the Fox platform which was originally developed for the 1978 Ford Fairmont and the Mercury Zephyr. The third generation of the Mustang saw two different body styles. From 1979 to 1986 the Mustang had four headlights and a triangle shaped front clip.

1994-2004 Mustang Parts

Ford introduced a new design for the Mustang in 1999. Ford called it the New Edge styling. The styling cues included larger wheel opening and sharper lines. Ford left the interiors mainly the same as the models in the previous years. The engines and transmissions were carried over from previous models however there were refinements in performance. To add increased excitement Ford introduced three models. To pay homage to the movie Bullitt and the car Steve McQueen drove, the 1968 Mustang fastback. In 2001 Ford introduced the Bullitt Mustang. In 2004 Ford introduced the Mach 1. Then in 1999 and 2001 the 320 bhp Cobra as well as the 390 bhp Cobra in 2003 and 2004.

2005-2009 Mustang Parts

In 2004 Ford introduced the completely redesigned Mustang, code named “S-197”. The new body style resembled the retro look of the late 1960’s. The term “retro-futurism” was coined by Ford’s vice president.

Between the 2005 to 2010 the Mustang base model engine was the 210 hp cast-iron block 4.0 Liter SOHC V6 and the GT used a completely aluminum block 4.6 Liter SOHC 3-V Modular V8, This V8 uses variable camshaft timing know as (VCT) and it produces 300 hp. The Tremec 3650 5-speed manual transmission was used in the base models with an optional 5R55S 5-speed automatic.

2010-2014 Mustang Parts

The Mustang was redesigned in 2010. The engine in the base model was unchanged where the GT saw an increase in hp to 315. The Mustang also had improved spring rates and dampers as well as the traction and stability control system being standard on all models.

The beloved Shelby GT500 included a new lighter aluminum supercharged V8 producing 550 hp! The aluminum block was 102 lbs lighter than the previous iron block.

A new boss was in town known as the 2012 Mustang Boss 302. The Boss was created with track day in mind featuring a 444 hp V8, added body bracing, a steel ‘X-brace’ where the rear seat was as well as other engine, transmission and suspension enhancements.

Here comes the 6th generation of the Mustang known as the “S-550”. This generation of Mustang is developed as Ford’s world car. With that in mind Ford introduced the newly designed Mustang at various venues around the world. To reach markets with high tariffs like China Ford introduced the 2.3 Liter Ecoboost I4 and we love it. This I4 EcoBoost takes us back to the 1984 SVO turbocharged I4.
